300 children are today incarcerated in Uganda's only detention centre for children, around 200 are completely innocent.
"Street life is really, very hard but at least you could be better on the street than in the prison. On the street you could at least hide. In the prison you can never go one day without being beaten."
This is Ivan's words. He was like many other street kids picked in buses by the authorities and taken to Kampiringisa, where they are put since they are "dirtying" the streets of Kampala.
